Various diesel running dates in 2010, details nearer the time. At this stage the following major special events involving diesel running are planned.
>11-13th June "GWR 175 Diesels in the West".
An event to showcase Diesel Hydraulic locomotives with a mixture of Westerns, Warships, Hymeks and Teddy Bears.
More details to follow, several visiting locomotives planned.
Exciting developments in the planning stages of the June event with the lineup expected to include two Westerns, two Warships and a Hymek. We have invited the Severn Valley Railway to bring D821 "Greyhound" and D1062 "Western Courier" (subject to approval). At this stage it is planned for them to be brought onto the line by Rail. D9520 is our other planned visiting loco from the Nene Valley Railway, scheduled to arrive by Road.
From the home fleet we expect a welcome return for D1010 with D7017, D832, D9526 and D1661 all in use too. D6566 and D7523 will be on 'thunderbird' duties on the line.
On Friday, the service will be all diesel hauled with one steam diagram on the Saturday and Sunday.
D7017 will be repainted into green prior to the event.
As you can imagine some colourful and exotic loco combinations will be planned! A unique opportunity to ride behind double headed Warships perhaps?!

The home fleet will be in action this weekend. This event replaces the Somerset in Autumn event normally held in October. This is to avoid the need for coach heating which our DEPG fleet cannot provide currently. .
