47840 Last days on the mainline.

This page is here to document some of the locos final mainline workings for First Great Western.
The loco was used extensively to move refurbished HST power cars and trailer vehicles around as part of the overhaul programme. Most of these moves happened on a VSTP basis (Very Short Term Planning) arranged through First Great Western control and Network Rail as required. This resulted in some very interesting colourful combinations running around the network!
The loco was also extensively used on shunt release duties between Paddington and Old Oak Common for the Sleepers in its final mainline days.

On Monday 30th April 07 the loco went Light engine as 0Z47 the 1130 Old Oak Common to Loughborough for work to be done on it before it enters preservation.
