33057 report. 13th August.

On Saturday, Martin F, Brad and myself fitted all the remaining brake blocks.  Following manually setting up of the slack adjusters to give the correct initial block to wheel clearance,  the compressor was run to give 100psi main res pressure.
Operation of all four straight air brake valves in turn confirmed correct application of the brakes to the wheels for the first time since 1996!
However, a blow was apparent from the repaired section of pipework so that will require further attention.
The DEPG glazing experts Paul T and Graham have managed to install the last windscreen panel meaning that the loco is now fully glazed.
Brad continues painting of the engine room.  He has now got a first coat of "Rail Grey" over the engine damper housing and fine fuel filter and has rubbed down and painted the fascia of the engine instrument panel.
On Sunday, prior to arrival of 33 048 for attention, I sawed an old vacuum bag that was in good condition to the required length and fitted the suction flange onto No.1 Exhauster and connected it to the non-return valve pipe using the flexible pipe section.
