Work Report Sat 27th Feb. By Matt Cambourne. Also with photos from Terry Deacon.

D1010. Good news today, the engine at the opposite end to the one recently installed was fired up and run for several hours. The compressor was also run which has been recently repaired. No show stoppers were found so far. A pipe will need some repair work under the loco which has rubbed through over time. The other end appears to be ok with no water leaks and it is hoped that this engine will be started before too long.

D9526. The loco was used to move a tender to Minehead today and bring another back in its place. Terry took two photos.

D3462. The loco will shortly re-enter service with the Railway just in time to help unload steam locos for the gala at Bishops Lydeard. In preparation for this, several more jobs were carried out on the loco today.

D7017. Andy has been busy preparing some old cylinder heads for storage at B end where the boiler used to be. Currently due to the lack of weight at that end of the loco, it sits slightly higher than the other end. Although not an unsafe problem, it is one of those things that would be nice to sort out. Andy is also making up a new battery box to store the batteries in which should offer more protection than at present.

D7018. Start contactors have been given some attention today.

D1661. The loco was run today for several hours.

33057. The loco will go to Bishops Lydeard next week before going off on a lorry for repairs. The bodywork will also be attended to whilst it is away on its holiday. Report to follow elsewhere on the site about this weekends activities.
