Press release regarding Colas Class 56:-
"The WSR are pleased to announce they have agreed to host the naming of a Colas Class 56
locomotive at Minehead Station on Saturday 11th June 2016 as part of the 70th anniversary of the
establishment of Peco ltd as a model railway manufacturer.
At the time of going to press we do not know which locomotive is to honoured with carrying the famous
Peco name, but we do know now that locomotive should arrive on Thursday 9th June before proceeding
to Minehead to go on static display on the turntable on Friday of the gala.
Peco are expecting around 150 guests on the Saturday many of whom are past and present employees
and they are due to travel on the 10:55 steam hauled service from Bishops Lydeard to Minehead.
Prior to their arrival, the Class 56 will be moved off the turntable and positioned for the naming
ceremony. The naming ceremony is scheduled for 13:00 on Saturday.
The loco will then work several trains on both Saturday afternoon and Sunday. More details can be found
in the working timetables below".
