Update 19th November

The troublesome ATP governor has now been fixed, thanks go to John Cooke!
Ken has repaired two brake cylinders, one from store and the other removed from the loco the previous week.

A new rubber seal was fitted to each one and any pitting in the applicable areas of the barrel was filled with chemical metal and sanded smooth.
Following a liberal coating of blue grease, the cylinders were re-assembled and both were bench tested using a compressor.

On Sunday, Leroy helped me change the one on No.4 axle r/h.
Quite fiddly as the new built footsteps proved to be a rather tight fit having been tailored around the existing cylinder!

But slackening of the fixing bolts gave enough room for manoeuvre.
But luckily it tested ok once fiitted.  I had hoped to change the final leaking cylinder on the other side of No.4 axle and had painted it in anticipation last thing on Saturday.
But the paint was still too tacky so that will have to wait until next weekend.
Paul has been sanding down the remaining fibreglass cab mouldings as well as cleaning the aluminium strip sections.

He is defining what hardwood battens are required to fix the fibreglass sections.
Brad has primed all of the cab heater covers as well as painting some more of the pipework.
He is also cleaning the buffer heads up to bright metal and was assisted by Leroy.
