Saturday 15th August- Further update and Photos from Jon Tooke.
As part of its ongoing repair program D1010 was taken to BL to go over the
pit in the locomotive compound for inspection and a check up.
As this was the very first time the newly rebuilt engine in the Western had
been tried out, the class 14 was taken as a dead weight and for insurance
but was not required.
D1010 performed faultlessly on the journey to Bishop's Lydeard and
sounded in fine form from my position in the cab of the class 14.
D9526 then took up its duties on the Willy Rocket trains for the day which
was rather enjoyable for myself and Colin in the sunshine and I have a
couple of pictures of this at BA and MD.
